While spherical pearls represent historic symmetry, baroque pearls celebrate organic individuality. No two specimens share identical contours, allowing each wearer to own a wearable sculptural original.
Understanding Pearl Nacre
Unlike mineral gemstones formed deep within the earth's crust, pearls are organic gems composed of aragonite crystals bound by conchiolin. This delicate organic matrix is what produces the iridescent orient and soft inner glow unique to freshwater specimens.
The Golden Rule of Pearl Maintenance
Pearls must always be “the last thing you put on, and the first thing you take off.” Cosmetic acids, perfumes, hair sprays, and chlorine will gradually erode the delicate nacre surface. After wearing, gently wipe with a damp microfiber cloth and store flat in a silk-lined pouch.
